My dissertation project looks at the white supremacist movement in the United States and Canada. I am principally interested in how white supremacist organizations attempt to recruit, impression manage, and convince their members to conduct high risk/cost activism.

Using a large dataset containing 49, 373, 905 messages from 170,672 users. This dataset comprises other white supremacist servers which were not included in my dissertations dataset (see Dissertation Work for more) and includes QANON conspiracy theorist servers, Men’s Right’s servers, alt-lite servers, including those of the Proud Boys, chats organizing the January 6th Capitol insurrection, and other general conspiracy theorist servers, many based on Covid-19.
